Runs |
After you have finished your first exploring the you'll have to change your strategy a bit.
It 's better in this game to focus on one thing at a time then doing a little bit of each. So to spend at little time as possible on changing your infrastructure from one setup to another one does runs where one tries to spend as many turns as possible on that setup.
At the start of a run build toolmakers to make to changing time quicker if you change your infrastructure a lot, at the end of a run.
At the end of a run to try to remove as many of your unnecessary buildings and exchange them with forts, towers, and maybe Town Centres, you try to get as many troops with high def points in your army that you can. You build some extra toolmakers, they serve 2 purposes, quickly get up the right buildings, and doing a final boost of on your wall. At the very end you demolish those toolmakers again, after all they are unnecessary buildings when you are not online.
"Explore Run" - When you have little land exploring is be better then attacking. Explore until it becomes un worthwhile, then start build a defensive army, attack while you build this army if you can find good targets.
The turning points on when stopping with explore runs is about 1-2 million lands, but can be a lot more if you have a lot of recourse/explore research.
Have your plains non-support building as
Farms.
Town Centers (enough to get explorers)
Mage towers (at about 5% of your land, unless you already have plenty of research)
"Attack Run" - Save up enough turns to make this worthwhile. Look at recent battles, score list or find players-top 100 below me a lot to see who are the easy targets. Build up a as big army as you can afford, have possibly only some town centres to get thieves. If you fear being attacked have some archers in your army, else have only offensive units. At the end build up more archers to get a good defensive army before you log of.
Build many
Forts.
Town Centres (if you need thieves/catapults)
Farms (only enough to feed your army)
"Mage run"- During these run you do all your research, try to get as much out of them as possible. Save 300 turns before you start then use at least 200 of them with as many mage towers as you can. Also stockpile gold, weapons and wine for your later attacks runs during these runs. If you are in an alliance and have goods on the public market, try to have someone rich standing by ready to boost you with some extra gold, having a lot of mage towers is expensive.
Build many
Mage towers
Weaponsmiths, wineries
"Turn buildup" - Between the runs try when you can to once in a while to watch thing, there might be some easy targets you can get, some cheap goods at public market, checking messages/forums or you might need to rebuild your army after being attack. This is one thing you often see on good players, They look in often, just to watch things, they don't actually use many turns if any at all. |
